The intention of these workbooks is to replace the traditional blank notebook with the key learning already populated; learning objectives, key concept and vocabulary. This knowledge is important enough that it is accurate within their notes and divergence across the class only compounds divergence of attainment and progress. By having it hard-coded into the very notebook, students cannot mistake the wording, fall behind or find they can’t read their own writing. It places much greater emphasis on the dialogue we have with students and the rehearsal of applying knowledge to texts.
The first Literature 100 workbook has now been updated, and two versions are available. One contains the models from each lesson to provide a ‘worked’ example. The other leaves the model space blank for students to populate with their own response. The blank models should be used by students, whilst the worked models can be provided for accessibility purposes; students who cannot get online so easily for instance.
Both workbooks are improved with a QR code to the online lesson. Now with the workbook in hand, students can use connected devices to navigate directly to the lesson and see greater detail in the examples.
