The procedures for the study of Literature attempts to scaffold an academic procedure for Secondary education. It displaces the typical ‘read, track, quote, label, explode, contextualise’ procedure and draws heavily from Debating Texts, by Rick Rylance.

Each lesson suggests what should be done before, during and after reading. The lessons describe what is important in the way we read as an academic investigating texts. Remember, that Literature as an academic course is not simply ‘reading books for pleasure’, it is an approach that reveals the way stories work, interconnect and affect the world around us.
